Jake Gyllenhaal tasered by police

Nov 22 2012, 5:03am CST | by

Jake Gyllenhaal agreed to be tasered while doing research for new movie 'End Of Watch', an experience he found ''jarring''.

Jake Gyllenhaal was tasered while researching his new movie.
The 'Brokeback Mountain' actor plays the role of a policeman in 'End Of Watch' and while out on a ride with the police, they asked if he wanted to feel what it was like to have the debilitating electrical current run through his body - although he regretted saying yes afterwards.
He said: ''I got tasered, which wasn't as funny at the time.
''The guys asked me if I wanted to feel what it was like I said, 'Yeah, f**k it.' They put a wire on my chest, the other one on my leg and let the current run through me. It was five seconds, but it was jarring.''
Discussing his career, Jake admits he has been close to playing superheroes in a number of films previously, but now claims he is more focused on being a better actor rather than winning a particular part.
He told ShortList magazine: ''At a certain point, you realise there's always some more interesting, talented and ready to do a role than you are - and you won't get every role you for.
''All I want right now is to hone my skills and become a better actor, not dream about wearing a cape. But you never know.''

Nov 3 2014 1:30am CST | Source: CBS Philly

By Bill Wine PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Predictably, moviegoing dropped off for Halloween weekend. Only two movies were able to top the modest $10-million mark – and barely at that. In a nose-to-nose finish, Nightcrawler, the thriller with Jake Gyllenhaal, eked out a first-place finish over the horror thriller, Ouija, which was last weekend’s leader. Each totaled just under $11-million. Fury, the holdover World war II drama with Brad Pitt, was third with $9-million. Rounding out the top fi ...

Taylor Swift on sexism: ‘It’s not the same for boys, it just isn’t & that’s a fact’

Oct 31 2014 10:40am CDT | Source: Celebitchy.com

Are you suffering from Taylor Swift-exhaustion yet? Surprisingly, I am not. I remember covering the rigmarole around Swift’s Red album release a few years ago, and I remember that being so much more painful than this 1989 album publicity. Two years ago, all she could talk about was boys and heartbreak and how she has every right to write blind-item songs because she was so heartbroken. Two years later, she seems to be in a better place. She’s happier, she’s independent, she thinks ...
