Mick Jagger's love letters up for auction

Nov 13 2012, 5:04am CST | by

Ten love letters from Sir Mick Jagger to his former flame Marsha Hunt will be put up for auction in London on December 12.

Sir Mick Jagger's love letters are being put up for auction.
The Rolling Stones rocker penned a series of 10 letters in 1969 to his former flame, American singer Marsha Hunt - who inspired the band's hit 'Brown Sugar' and bore his first child - which will be auctioned off at Sotheby's in London this December.
Marsha said in a statement: ''When a serious historian finally examines how and why Britain's boy bands affected international culture and politics, this well-preserved collection of Mick Jagger's hand written letters will be a revelation.''
Marsha, 66, has revealed the correspondence chronicles their ''delicate love affair'' and says the letters were written from the set of Mick's film 'Ned Kelly' in Australia.
They discus topical subjects of the moment like the first moon landing and John Lennon and Yoko Ono's relationship.
Sotheby's books specialist Gabriel Heaton said the collection - which includes song lyrics and a Rolling Stones playlist - shows a ''poetic and self-aware'' young Mick.
He added: ''They provide a rare glimpse of Jagger that is very different from his public persona: passionate but self-contained, lyrical but with a strong sense of irony.''
The auction will take place on December 12 and is expected to fetch between £70,000 and £100,000.

Kim & Kanye are on vacation in Mexico again: is Yeezus working with Mick Jagger?

Aug 19 2014 9:00am CDT | Source: Celebitchy.com

You know how I always say that Kim Kardashian and Duchess Kate are so much alike? Well, they have something else in common: they won’t stop taking vacations. Even when they’ve literally been on vacation the week before, they’ll take another vacation. Vacations on top of vacations. Endless vacations. With little to no “work.” So, yes, Kim Kardashian is on vacation again. The only reason I’m not mad about it is because taxpayers aren’t funding her ass-tan. ...

Tori Amos Is In Denial

Aug 18 2014 8:07am CDT | Source: WWTDD.com

Tori Amos had a rough time coming to grips with turning fifty, and in the process tricked herself into believing a bunch of her own bullshit. Amos said she was worried her performances would suffer as she got older and that she wouldn’t be able to ‘rock’ the people who listen to her on elevators and at Macaroni Grills. Amos came to the realization that musicians should keep playing well into their later years, and th ...

As Tears Go By — Marianne Faithfull Claims Her Heroin Dealer Ex ‘Killed’ Legendary Rock Star Jim Morrison

Aug 7 2014 6:51pm CDT | Source: Radar Online

The Doors’ legendary frontman Jim Morrison died in a Paris bathtub in 1971 of an alleged heroin overdose. While mystery and conspiracy theories have surrounded his death since then, now, Mick Jagger’s former flame, singer Marianne Faithfull, says one of her ex-boyfriends, heroin dealer Jean de Breteuil, administered the fatal drug. He “went to see Jim Morrison and he killed him. The smack was too strong? Yeah. And he died,” Faithfull has ...

Jerry Hall, 58: ‘I smoke, I drink, I like wine, I love sun tanning, I drink coffee’

Aug 7 2014 6:15am CDT | Source: Celebitchy.com

I’ve always sort of liked Jerry Hall. She stayed with Mick Jagger the longest, she had most of his kids, and she seems like a good mom and a pretty cool person. Plus, she was a great model. Jerry still lives in London (I think she got the mansion in her divorce from Mick) and most of her friends and family are in London too. Jerry gave a new interview to Good Housekeeping (via The Daily Mail) about her life these days, her thoughts on Botox, hard living ...

Aug 5 2014 10:45am CDT | Source: All HipHop

At the beginning of the James Brown biopic, Get On Up, a strung-out Brown (Chadwick Boseman) walks into an insurance seminar in 1988 with a shotgun and causes a scene because someone used his private bathroom.  Just moments later, Brown and his band are seen flying into Vietnam in the 60s, during the height of his popularity, to entertain the troops and their plane takes enemy fire.  To further complicate things, James then says how influential he is ri ...

Will Chadwick Boseman get an Oscar nomination for ‘Get On Up’?

Aug 4 2014 9:20am CDT | Source: Celebitchy.com

I went to see Get On Up over the weekend, and it was SO GOOD. And now I’m sort of obsessed with James Brown as a person, and with Chadwick Boseman as an actor. I’m including some photos from the NYC premiere of Get On Up, which happened a few weeks ago. Mick Jagger is in the photos because he produced the film, because he’d always wanted to tell the story of James Brown. Mick and James knew each other for a long time. They met in the 1960s, before the Rolling Stones were ...
