Amber Heard and Johnny Depp in Trouble over Canine Smuggling Charges.
The actress Amber Heard and actor Johnny Depp are in deep trouble due to the fact that they tried to sneak Yorkshire terriers into Aussie territory a year ago.
The two are fighting for their rights in court presently. They have pleaded guilty as far as the misdemeanor is concerned.
Depp and Heard apparently falsified their immigration documents which only added injury to insult.
Previously they had smuggled their Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo, into Australia. Heard appeared in court and was told that the previous charges had been dropped.
Pistol and Boo, the two pooches caused quite a storm in a teacup when the local authorities wanted them deported or euthanasized.
While Depp was filming his Pirates of the Caribbean series of movies, Heard brought the two mutts into Australia. So began the litigation that would last for such a long time.
Australia has strict laws as far as entry of animals are concerned. Furthermore, the falsification of documents means that a sentence of ten years in prison could be awarded to the actor and actress, according to THR.
Also a fine of $90,200 applies in this particular case. The actress has expressed her remorse at the act of which she is guilty. Let’s see how she fares in the future in relation to the law.
