Robin Wright: Hollywood is hard if you have integrity

May 16 2014, 10:56am CDT | by

Robin Wright thinks Hollywood is a difficult place "if you have integrity".

The 'House of Cards' star refused to take "wife and arm candy" roles which would have raised her profile, and instead concentrate on raising her daughter Dylan, 23, and son Hopper, 20, with ex-husband Sean Penn while waiting for a properly engaging part to play.

She told Town and Country magazine: "Hollywood is difficult to navigate if you have integrity, so I opted not to work if there wasn't enough to do in a role, which doesn't have to do with the role's size.

"If there's nothing for me to do as an actress, that's frustrating ... I'd rather go work at a menial labor job, where I can actually get my hands dirty."

The 48-year-old actress admits her decision to stand back had an affect on her, adding: "In a sense it hurts, because you're like, 'I want to play too! I just don't want to play that way.

"I'm not up there with Kate Winslet and Julia Roberts. I don't sell tickets. I've known that for a long time."

Robin - who is now engaged to be married to Ben Foster - also said she had considered plastic surgery.

She added: "I was really considering that stuff, because in Hollywood the pressure's there.

You better lift that face and pump those lips and hike those boobs! And I was like, 'I don't want to do that. I'm going to get older. I'm going to have wrinkles!' "

Although she didn't opt for full surgery, Robin has previously admitted she has "the tiniest sprinkle of Botox twice a year."

Jul 28 2014 8:41pm CDT | Source: Oh No They Didn't!

The biggest news coming from the next X-Men movie X-Men: Apocalypse will be who is playing the famed Four Horsemen with the villain Apocalypse. But has writer Simon Kinberg already confirmed one of them?Speaking with MTV News, Kinberg teased a return of Angel, played by Ben Foster in X-Men: The Last Stand, and said that while he was born in present day in that movie, he could come back for the 80s-set Apocalypse."I would say in terms of making any character decis ...

The Crap We Missed – Tuesday 7.8.14

Jul 8 2014 2:00pm CDT | Source: The Superficial

Welcome to Tuesday’s The Crap We Missed where I’m once again in familiar territory, alone, below some fantastic nakedness and free to write whatever I want without caution. So before my presentation on some of the good ideas the Nazis had (Did you know they invented frozen yougurt?), I’ll describe the questions that my in-no-way-severely-damaged brain created for my favorite pic of the day. Here’s perpetually shit-faced Kiefer Sutherland drunk shuffling down the sidewalk in ...

Robin Wright: ‘I’m trying to do the Paleo Diet. No carbs, I’ve got to get thin’

Jun 9 2014 6:05am CDT | Source: Celebitchy.com

Here are some photos of Robin Wright last Thursday at the party for her Los Angeles Confidential magazine cover. The cover is the issue dedicated to “Women of Influence.” Robin’s got a new career lease ever since House of Cards, which is great for her. I wish more actresses would realize that better parts (and better money) are in TV rather than film. At the event, Robin spoke to People Mag about how happy she is these days and, much like her recent Botox conf ...
