Joey Essex face-to-face with lizards

Joey Essex is the first star to take on a bushtucker trial in 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' tonight (17.11.13).

'The Only Way Is Essex' hunk will come face-to-face with three lizards on the ITV show during the Turntable of Terror.

The 23-year-old reality star, who is among 10 celebrities to head into the Australian jungle, admits beforehand he is petrified of creepy crawlies and is not looking forward to the task.

And as one of the scorpions scuttled towards his privates, he shouted: "It's scratching me the hell out of me. He's biting."

In the first show of the 13th series, campmates including former 'Emmerdale' actress Lucy Pargeter, 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' star Alfonso Ribeiro and snooker player Steve Davis join Joey on a luxury yacht, before presenters Ant and Dec split the 10 contestants into two teams who battle it out to win food for dinner and a better camp.

Each round will see one celebrity from each team get inside a glass coffin to complete a star shaped jigsaw puzzle.

Alfonso and Steve are also joined by scorpions and the 'Fresh Prince' actor was left shaken after the challenge.

He said: "It will take me a second to decompose. That was tougher than I thought."

The winners of the first challenge will spent the first few weeks in the luxury Croc Creek while the losing celebrities will have to camp in the run-down Snake Rock.

Joey admitted: "I didn't know we actually had to sleep in the jungle. I thought we got a cabin or something."

He also told Lucy: "I've never learned to wash my clothes. I've got a cleaner. You might need to teach me."

The series starts tonight from 9pm on ITV.
