Lady Gaga hits back at former assistant

Sep 15 2013, 2:24pm CDT | by Bang Showbiz

Lady Gaga claims she is "completely aghast" at her former assistant's lawsuit against her.

The 'Applause' hitmaker is being sued by her ex-best friend Jennifer O'Neill, who claims the singer owes her $380,000 in overtime payments because she had to spend 24 hours a day with her and share the same bed during 'The Monster Ball' tour in 2010.

The 27-year-old star has submitted a 200-page witness statement, obtained by the Mail on Sunday newspaper, to give her side of the story, in which she explains that she rewards her hardworking staff with perks rather than overtime pay.

She said: "I am quite wonderful to everyone that works for me. I am going to tell you exactly what ******* happened, so that the judge can read on this transcript exactly what's going on, which is my ex-best friend is a ******* hood rat who is suing me for money that she didn't earn. The job was essentially a favor, and Jennifer was majorly unqualified for it."

Lady Gaga also claims that personal assistants are rarely paid overtime in the entertainment industry.

Jennifer previously testified that she felt it was a "required" part of her job to sleep with her employer.

She said: "I was by her side virtually 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That includes sleeping in the same bed with her. Because she did not sleep alone."

She added: "Unlike anybody else on that tour, I did not have my own hotel room. I was not asked if I wanted my own hotel room."

The court case is set to begin on November 4 in New York City and could have landmark repercussions for entertainment industry employees.

Next Wave #608: FEMME

Oct 27 2014 11:34am CDT | Source: Clash Music

A retro-futuristic pop princess…FEMME can be considered many things: an alluring fatale with pink hair, a nonchalant fashion icon with chandelier earrings, and a burgeoning popstress. But not in the contrived sense – her retro futurism aesthetic is authentic. It takes a cerebral mind to hark back to one of the most influential eras in music. “There’s a lot of charm in ’60s girl-groups that’s very ins ...

The 17 Wards of Wonder’ art experience cocktail reception. Notice anything different about Bey? That’s right, she’s lost the bangs. They lasted all of TEN DAYS. Love Is Saying 'Sari': The Quest To Save A South Asian Tradition

Oct 27 2014 3:36am CDT | Source: WNYC Music

My parents were married for more than 40 years, happily. But my mother says her greatest joy is stacked in her closet: her saris or, as Bengalis say it, shaaris. "Because sari is my passion, maybe my first love is sari," my mother says, giggling. There are about 200 saris in there, many older than me. My mother danced on stage in a sari. She went to college in a sari. And wherever she went on holiday, she found the sari ...

Lady Gaga A Vision In White

Oct 26 2014 7:24am CDT | Source: I'm Not Obsessed

It looks like Lady Gaga decided she wasn’t interested in a little black dress when she decided to hit the town in London. Instead, she went with a white dress. She almost looks bridal, doesn’t she? Yet Lady Gaga still made a unique fashion statement with dramatic eye make-up. Even with the cosmetics, however, this look is rather tame for her – LOL. RELATED: Lady Gaga is ready to hit the town! One thing I haven’t noticed since he ...
