Paparazzo Daniel Ramos filed court documents on Wednesday (08.21.13), claiming he was attacked by the 36-year-old rapper while trying to take photos of him at Los Angeles International Airport on July 19.
The lawsuit alleges that "without warning or provocation", Kanye "suddenly attacked, punching and attempting to wrestle the camera from" Ramos' hands after the photographer asked him: "Can we talk to you?"
He claims he was able to protect his camera but fell to the ground "with enough force that he sustained injuries to his right hip, as well as accompanying pain and emotional distress."
He was then taken to Marina Del Rey Hospital by ambulance to get checked out.
An evaluation worksheet released last Friday (08.16.13) by the L.A. County District Attorney's Office stated that Ramos was discharged from the hospital with a contusion and muscle strain but the D.A. decided not to file felony charges against Kanye as there was no "significant injury".
He added: "I am speaking out today because I don't want what happened to me to ever happen to anyone else."
He is seeking unspecified damages for allegations of battery, assault, negligence and interference with the exercise of civil rights.
