Jay-Z argued with Kanye West for four days

Jay-Z once had an argument with Kanye West which lasted four days.

The rapper - who just scored his first UK number one album with 'Magna Carta ... Holy Grail' - fell out with his close friend Kanye when deciding whether to include the songs 'Holy Grail' and 'Oceans' on their 2011 collaborative 'Watch The Throne' album.

Jay told BBC Radio 1: "We had this whole plan when me and Kanye did [the] 'Watch The Throne' album that we would go right into our solos after that. Soon as I thought we had wrapped up 'Watch The Throne', I made two records - I had 'Holy Grail' and 'Oceans'. [There were] no lyrics on 'Holy Grail' and I recorded 'Oceans' and I played those records for Kanye. And he was like, 'No those have to go on 'Watch The Throne'."

"So we spent four days arguing about those records and I was explaining to him why it wasn't right for this project and I had a whole idea for making this album called 'Magna Carta'... [The] 'Holy Grail' [part of] the name came after."

Jay went on to record 'Holy Grail' with Justin Timberlake, while Frank Ocean features on 'Oceans'.

The news comes as Jay has announced UK and European tour dates for later this year.
