Mumford and Sons star Ted Dwane home after brain surgery

Mumford & Sons star Ted Dwane is at home recovering after having brain surgery.

The 28-year-old bassist had emergency surgery last week after a scan revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain, but he is now convalescing and has thanked fans for their messages of support.

In a posting on the band's website - accompanied by a picture of him sporting a shaved head - he revealed: "Bear with a sore head! Thanks so much for all the well wishing, it seems to be working! I'm home."

Dwane was discharged from hospital last Thursday (06.13.13) and the band - which also includes Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett and Winston Marshall - were pleased to report on his progress dubbing him a hero for the way he has handled the situation.

They also joked that it has been "medically proved" that he does have a brain.

Mumford & Sons cancelled several US dates on their 'Summer Stampede' tour including appearances at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival and at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

They are due to headline the final night of the Glastonbury music festival, which takes place over the weekend of Friday June 28 to Sunday June 30.

Mumford & Sons may aim to sound like a group from rural Ireland, yet nobody within the group owes a serious debt to the Emerald Isle. Which is why The Lost Brothers are so vital. Amid a scene which cloaks itself in a veil of authenticity, the group actually walk it like t ...

British rock music is back. No, really, it is.

Sep 4 2014 8:53am CDT | Source: Music Week

There is little more tedious than hearing some hoary old industry sage tell you that ‘rock music is dead’. Then, sure as the BBC turning up early at a Yewtree raid, will follow the bullshit Yin to that Yang: managers of young noise-rampant oiks who are, like, totally going to show the world why ROCK IS BACK! The only way to prove or disprove each hypothesis is with the combative antagonist’s kryptonite - solid, square data - and, well, statistics are usually fenc ...

Tom is the first in his family of non-musicians to enter into the tough world of music; all thanks to him being drawn to their upright piano at a young age.
