Los Angeles, June 13 — Singer and actress Mariah Carey got a complete make-under for her role as a slave in her upcoming movie "The Butler".

The 43-year-old had to avoid wearing stilettos, diamonds and mini dresses to make her character Hattie Pearl look convincing, reports eonline.com.

This is not the first time that Carey is going for minimal make-up. In 2009, she chose to play de-glam role in "Precious", which won Oscars for best adapted screenplay and best supporting actress.
