Keira Knightley weds Klaxons star James Righton

May 5 2013, 8:04pm CDT | by

London, May 6 (IANS) Actress Keira Knightley has married Klaxons star James Righton in a ceremony held in the south of France, BBC reported.

London, May 6 — Actress Keira Knightley has married Klaxons star James Righton in a ceremony held in the south of France, BBC reported.

The couple, who have been dating since 2011, wed in front of about 10 people in Mazan, Provence, close to where the bride's family has a holiday home.

The short service was followed by a reception for family and friends, reported to have included Righton's bandmates and actress Sienna Miller.

Knightley, 28, announced her engagement to Righton, 29, last year.

"Keira was a charming bride, very modest and simple in her attitude, as was James," Mayor Aime Navello told the Daily Mail.

"I got the impression that it was a very moving experience for both of them."

The actress, who was Oscar-nominated for her performance in 2005's "Pride and Prejudice", is the daughter of playwright Sharman Macdonald and actor Will Knightley.

She rose to fame in the British hit "Bend it like Beckham", becoming an international star in films including "Love Actually" and the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise.

Knightley also won critical acclaim for her performances in films such as "Atonement", "A Dangerous Method" and, most recently, "Anna Karenina".

Later this year, she will be seen in "Jack Ryan" - a prequel to previous Tom Clancy adaptations - playing Cathy Ryan opposite Chris Pine.

Singer and keyboard player Righton has performed with rock band the Klaxons since 2005. The group won a Mercury Music Prize in 2007 for their debut album "Myths Of The Near Future".

In an interview, Knightley earlier said she did not want an extravagant wedding.

"We're not 'big wedding' types. I don't need to have all that. I'm just trying to enjoy the engagement bit."

"My parents are together after 40 years. The fights are there but they love each other. It's not like the first three months, the first two years... whatever it is, but I think it gets more interesting, or I hope so," she said.

Duchess Kate & her family could get a private screening of ‘The Imitation Game’

Oct 13 2014 7:20am CDT | Source: Celebitchy.com

Did you guys see this People Magazine article a few days ago? It’s all about whether People Mag should refer to The Artist Formerly Known as Kate Middleton as “Princess Kate” or “Duchess Kate” or “Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge” or whatever. We’ve had that debate so many times before. Back in 2011, just after William and Kate got married, I made the editorial decision to refer to her as “Duchess Kate” in headlines, even though that’s not the real royal title style. He ...

Here are some photos of Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley at the photocall for The Imitation Game for the London Film Festival, which opens today. TIG is the big opening night premiere. I don’t have the designer IDs for either of their ensembles. I kind of hate Benedict’s outfit, is that okay? Do I have to turn in my Cumberbitch Badge? 'The Imitation Game' will not feature Alan Turing’s sexuality as a major plot point

Sep 18 2014 3:28pm CDT | Source: Oh No They Didn't!

The victory of The Imitation Game at the Toronto film festival, from which I’ve just returned, seals the deal for the biopic of Alan Turing to dominate the Oscars, just as previous winners 12 Years a Slave, The King’s Speech and Slumdog Millionaire have in years gone by. The Brits are coming! Again! So why my sinking heart? Partly it’s because – unlike 12 Years a Slave – The Imitation Game simply isn’t very stirring. It’s neither turkey nor lion, a solid three-star job. Benedict ...
