Lindsey Vonn is recuperating after surgery on Sunday to repair torn stabilizing ligaments in her knee and a fractured shin. Her doctor said he is hopeful for a full recovery. She injured her knee while competing at the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in Austria. She had to be airlifted from the slopes and taken to the hospital.
The surgery took place at the Vail Valley Surgery Center and was conducted by Dr. Bill Sterett of Vail-Summit Orthopedics, who is the head physician for the U.S. Women's Alpine Ski Team. She is doing great and wish her well on her expected full recover.
Oxford Dictionaries to add 1,000 new words
London, Dec 4 (IANS) 'Mamil' (middle-aged man in Lycra), 'silvertail' (a person who is socially prominent or who displays social aspirations) and 'crony capitalism' are among the 1,000 new words to be added to OxfordDictionaries.com, the free online dictionary, in its largest quarterly update so far.
