Kelly Clarkson's wedding dress woes

Feb 7 2013, 5:30am CST | by

Kelly Clarkson had a nightmare day when she tried on wedding dresses.

The 30-year-old singer couldn't wait to try on gowns at Vera Wang's boutique in West Hollywood for her upcoming wedding to Brandon Blackstock but things didn't quite go as planned for her.

Kelly had been so busy she had let her beauty regime slip and she didn't like what she saw in the mirror.

She told the new issue of People magazine: "I was in the changing room and I looked at my armpits and I was like 'Are you kidding me? I look like a cave woman!' And then I took off my pants and I was like, 'Oh God, my legs match!' My nails looked like a hot mess, my eyebrows looked like bushes. I was so not a girl. I started tearing up because I'm like, 'This is not me. I'm usually not this gross. I'm just so busy.' "

However, things got even worse for Kelly when her friend got ill at the store.

Referring to the famous scene in the movie 'Bridesmaids' when the wedding party all got diarrhea at the dress fitting, Kelly said: "Then on top of that my friend got incredibly ill like in the movie 'Bridesmaids'. She's like, 'We are totally not going to get asked back there.' "

However, despite the various tribulations, Kelly managed to find the perfect dress for her nuptials.

She said: "The wedding gown is my personality in a dress. It's sweetly damaged. A little rock and roll. A little tattered. Nothing like a princess thing."

Kelly and Brandon got engaged in December after nine months of dating.
